Farther north than Little Falls?

Recommended Posts

Aquaman01

Hi! I have a couple of questions about the river area north of LF. I'm trying to plan a late August/Early Sept. tent overnight with my boy. What I would LOVE to find is a campground with tent sites with direct shore access. Private, state or county is fine, as long as they have a launch and some shore. Close to a dam or other 'sure fire' structure would be dynamite.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

Crow Wing State Park is on the river, about 7 miles south of Brainerd.

Thanks a lot, guys! I went up and checked out Crow Wing park and it looks good. There is a dam on the Crow Wing 6 river miles up from the park that we might try to get to, and drift back from.

Are there catfish that far north in The Missy? I've gotten 'em below the LF dam before...do they make it up to Brainerd?

I've caught a lot of smaller cat's in the area just above the ****. They seem to stack up in the west side of the river just north of the park. Most were caught in about 17-20ft. on crawwlers & Lindy's. A few walleye's mixed in.

you can get to horseshoe by boat but not far enough to get any fish yet.   This may change in the next few days.   I plan on ice fishing on shoe today.   Should be able to land a nice amount of slabs.   Don

Drove by Elysian on my way home this afternoon. Shoreline didn’t appear to be pulling away, view from the highway for what it’s worth.

Got the property surveyed today. Originally plotted back in 1968 and sure enough there where metal pipes marking 3 of the corners but who knows how long it would have taken me to find them. They placed a monument on the missing corner. Hopefully this warm weather sticks around, need to remove some trees and get the wheel house moved in. Thanks everyone for your responses!

Was out on the lake today. Easy 24-26" inches of hard ice yet.

Drove around the entire lake today. From the road it looks like the warm weather has melted most of the snow. Only saw about a half dozen people fishing. Ice isn’t pulling away from shore yet. Stopped at the Borden access and walked out a bit, kicked myself for not bringing the fishing equipment, easy travel out there.

Plastic PC is 3/4 x2 x3.5. Drilled shallow holes on the transom side for the adhesive to cling to. Pretty solid. Time will tell

No shutoff needed. Take a photo of how you mounted your transducer Alex.
