Radke's current pace??

I only heard it in part, but Blyleven mentioned
something about Radke's Walks to innings ratio and that he was on pace to possibly become themost accurate pitcher ever.

I've been outof touch for a few games etc. Anyone else follow this stuff or hear anything else?

Just curious! Radke doesn't get enough respect if you ask me!

He must be an unlucky pitcher, without a doubt! He is good, really good, but he does'nt get any run support when he is on the mound....when he does, something odd takes place and he gets a no decision, whats he got, something like 8 or 10? In my opinion, Radke is an ace and he should have alot more wins then he has!

I know that going into last night's game his walks per 9 innings was .8, which led the AL easily. There was one other pitcher at .94 or something like that & Silva was 4th in the AL at like 1.47.

He's definitely been screwed by anemic hitting when he pitches, with any luck at all he'd have 12-13 wins right now. I'm sure the Twins hitters are aware of that & feel bad about it too, but it still stinks.

Radke had 11 no-decisions through last start.

Blyleven would have had 300 wins if not for some weak Twins bats in his early years. He lost a lot of games with no support.

What a gem Radke pitched last night. Santana's getting all the ink but Bradley's changeup is as off-speed as ever. Absolutely owned Jorge Posada, and got several big K's by painting the corner. Gotta love Bernie Williams getting rung up.
Koskie's lumber is getting hot, JJ is making plays and Morneau is still blasting top shelf round tickets. Already has more HRs and RBIs than Dougie Ballgame, who got run over at 2nd the other night (then talked trash as usual).
Hope we keep this rolling. Right to another pennant. Then who knows? If Lohse and Romero find their stuff our staff is looking pretty solid. Rincon is a good upgrade from Fiore and with Nathan our bullpen is better than it's been in a long time.
Bust out the brooms, we're gonna sweep the pinstripes.

I don't know about us sweeping the Yanks. 2 out of 3 would be nice, and I think that the injuns will be swept by texas.

However, you are right about Radke. The guy really is having one of his best years this year. He hasn't had any run support, otherwise he would be close to having a 20-win season.

I totally agree with Wade. Only problem with last nights game is that I didn't get to see it until the 5th inning. Dick and Bert were singing Brads praises, as usual. And as usual, they were well deserved. He's our ace no matter how good the other starters are doing. I just wish the team could score him some more runs on a regular basis.

Sweep the pinstripes???? Dare to dream. Winning the series, however, would be a HUGE shot in the arm for the team. Especially after the struggles they've had the last few series.

Go Twins.

No kidding ,just taking one game is a major victory considering we were 0-13 the last 13 meetings. Remember the Yanks are without Giambi and A-Rod right now too, but who cares, a W is still a W! I think we go up against Mussina tonight, who has our number, it should be a hell of a pitchers duel.

Oh yeah, If Radke had ANY run support he would win 20 games this year easy. If memory serves me right his last 4 starts he has a no decision, and I think he left with the lead in a couple of those.

Very low, probably 2 feet lower than last year at ice out.

I might have missed a guess, but here are the ones that I noted:   JerkinLips – March 27th, then April 7th Brianf. – March 28th Bobberwatcher – April…. MikeG3Boat – April 10th SkunkedAgain – early April, then April 21st   Definitely a tough year for guesses, as it seemed to be a no-brainer early ice out. Then it got cold and snowed again.

So, that was you in the camo lund? I'm bummed, I have to head back to the cities tomorrow for a few days, then back up for at least a few weeks. Got the dock in and fired up to get out chasing some crappies till opener!

On the south end...   Lots of ice on the main basin, but it is definitely deteriorating.  Some anglers have been fishing the open water at the mouth of the Rainy River in front of the Lighthouse Gap.  The rest of the basin is still iced over. Pike enthusiasts caught some big pike earlier last week tip up fishing in pre-spawn areas adjacent to traditional spawning areas.  8 - 14' of water using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring has been the ticket.  Ice fishing for all practical purposes is done for the year. The focus for the basin moving forward will be pike transitioning into back bays to spawn,  This is open water fishing and an opportunity available as the pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. With both the ice fishing and spring fishing on the Rainy River being so good, many are looking forward to the MN Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 11th.  It should be epic. On the Rainy River...  An absolutely incredible week of walleye and sturgeon fishing on the Rain Rainy River.     Walleye anglers, as a rule, caught good numbers of fish and lots of big fish.  This spring was one for the books.   To follow that up, the sturgeon season is currently underway and although every day can be different, many boats have caught 30 - 40 sturgeon in a day!  We have heard of fish measuring into the low 70 inch range.  Lots in the 60 - 70 inch range as well.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  Open water is continuing to expand in areas with current.  The sight of open water simply is wetting the pallet of those eager for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th.   A few locals were on the ice this week, targeting pike.  Some big slimers were iced along with some muskies as well.  If you like fishing for predators, LOW is healthy!

Early bird gets the worm some say...   I have it on good authority that this very special angler caught no walleyes or muskies and that any panfish caught were released unharmed.
