Fish the points and the weeds. A beetlespin with a twister tail is a good search method. You can get lots of bass, northern, and even crappies while you are searching. Good Luck!

I've gotten some 19 - 20 inch eyes off Goose this year. Generally fishing the downwind side of the lake in 22-26 feet.

The other day I was out there and the DNR folks were there also. They had an 18 foot Lund which they had taken under the bridge.

I went out to goose yesterday with a buddy and we got 2 small eyes(9,10 inchers), a few small pike and thats it! We we fishing from 6:30am till around 5pm. We caught our fish on live bait rigs with leeches and we also tried jigs and minnows with no luck. We fished the points and mid lake humps and next to the weeds. I couldn't hardly even mark any fish on the graph. I haven't fished this lake alot so maybe I was just doing something wrong. We couldn't even get bites or any bait stolen.

By the way the water is way up and if you have a larger boat esp with a windshield, I wouldn't plan on making it thru under the bridge. The water temp was 70 in the morn and 73 in the afternoon.

I saw a very "independent" woman go under bridge last year, beer in her hand, no eye contact and hauling a$$. She got half way under bridge and I heard a God awful noise.......................she tore the steering colum right off the pontoon she was the captain of. If she didnt have such an attitude, it would not have been so funny. WATCH THE BRIDGE!

Did anyone get out to goose over the weekend? I was thinking of giving it another try sometime this week. I don't know if it will be any good this week though with the cold fronts that keep dropping down on us.

I tried Goose for the first time last Saturday. Had a blast! Picked up a dozen or so bass and a half dozen pike. At one point we picked up four 4lb bass in a row within 15 minutes.

  • 2 weeks later...

I spent last week north of Duluth catching trout and plan to stay home this weekend and fish Goose. I've found on Goose that a strong wind really helps when it comes to catching walleyes during the day, so I'm starting to check the windcasts on Intellcast.
