I've heard something about it being an experimental lake, so is the fishing open all year for all species? thanks

I could be wrong, you'll have to check the regs but I think as of a couple years ago it became a normal lake.

As I recall, it was a thirty year experiment that began in the late sixties. I don't remember the exact year it ended but I think it was 1998. I used to fish the lake a lot in the 90's. Trout fishing was excellent. The last time I contacted the DNR, after the inland lake regulations were once again enforced on this lake, a trout stamp was not needed on the lake proper. You did need a stamp to fish the creek though. Hope this helps.
