Anyone having luck on this lake yet? I am going up for an anniversary party Sunday and wonder if I should bother to bring my rod (fishing) and try for some crappies or sunny's or whatever....

Also.. what is working best for baits etc if anything is biting? I'm old (40) but not real experienced. The cabin we'll be at is on the north end of the lake, far from the river.

Anyone?

Thanks guys!

mnjon,

Fish the north end where Pokegama creek enters. Work all of the shallows and channels and emergent grasses. They're in there. There just not real cooperative yet.

The walleye fishing still is poor. However, there have been some opportunities for smaller fish in the Snake River.

Panfish were hot a couple weeks ago, but I don't have any recent information.

I just got back from Cross lake today, we caught well over a 100 crappies and sunnies today, they bit all day long but you gotta go deep for em! Even caught a bunch of nice sunnies in the shallows last nite from 7:30 till 9:20, had a blast, no jet ski's or water skier's!! Gotta love going on the weekdays!!

That is a great question, looking forward to responses. The only fairly consistent pattern we've noticed is that we run into more fish on deeper structure in that 30-35 ft zone. We haven't found any of those big schools you find during open water though.

15” of ice so we added 4” more in the last 12 days. A few cars and full size pickups driving around.  Fishing had been slow. Started at 10am yesterday and caught just 4 eyes 11-15” and 2 eelpout 15” each. Started off good this morning with this 25” but have only caught a 12” since. Marking lots of fish but can’t get them to bite.

On Saturday I drove into Wisconsin to meet up with my buddy Matt and his Dad to target some Crappies. The weather was perfect and allowed us to stay mobile & hole hop around all day to catch fish. We found a good average size (10-12") and some larger fish mixed in. I started the day fishing a 4mm tungsten jig with big plastics but the fish seemed to shy away so I downsized to the smaller profile (3.8mm) tungsten fly and almost every fish I marked turned into a biter. I always have a Wisconsin fishing license so I'm hoping to check out a few new lakes this winter across the border.

I fish the WE 75% and only travel to the east end for a change.  We do great all summer, but most of my my summer stops do not produce any walleye and the unusual stops produce a few sporadically.  WHERE DO THE FISH GO??????😑

New info on Linwood Lake access..... The access is all melted now almost all the way across. With this warm weather it just ruined it. Was there last night and you can only go on the left side. Just a small spot to pass. I could drive my wheeler across ok. Super disappointing. There is the 2 boards still there people can use to cross.

The resorts are letting wheel houses out pulled by utv or atv ,,,, Not many houses out past 2 miles ,,, Open water on both ends of Pine Island ,,, We had decent ice out to 1 1/2 miles out in 29 fow but a crack opened up on the ride back in ,,, Lots of sauger in our bucket this trip,,,, Heading back for the MLK holiday weekend
