Hey CTSH, We all have are right to our opinions and with your sarcastic reply comes another. I thought that this forum is not to be used for Business purposes. It seems to me that you are using this forum to advertise your business. ex..CorynTracySELLHOMES. Hmmm. Phone numbers with extensions and business information. I do believe that you use this forum for fishing information but also for the purpose of getting your business information out to. Now lets be truthful here. I guess I am just angered that you put all your business information on here to advertise. Thats about the same as pop-ups on the internet.

Dear Crappie Hunter.

Sarcasm?? I do not think I was being sarcastic at all! I live on Rush Lake and love the lake! I try and post updates on what is happening on the lake, I try to keep it timely and with good information! As for your posting on Rush it is just a negative post, great I am glad you do not like to fish Rush!

This past weekend I ran into the greatest group of guys from this Web Site. We got together and had a great time sharing information, and most importantly laughing! That couldn't happen with out a great web site like Fishing Minnesota! What have you contributed to this website? I do not remember seeing many posts from you, maybe you do provide information sometimes, I do not know, but the responses I do remeber are just negative! I do not know you, maybe you are just a negative person! It angers me to be attacked by someone I do not know, nor have I ever talked too!!

For your information I have never got a negative remark on anything I have ever posted, In fact I recieve numerous phone calls from people who are on there way up to Rush and want up to date information! But, since you do not like that I provide this service, to please you Crappie Hunter I will not leave my information anymore!

Hmmm 75 replies and posts since December. And also lots of Positive information from me with lots of posts. Also, I see you did not respond about the posts you have with all your business information on it. You ARE ADVERTISING and you know it. This site is not intended for that purpose. Oh, but your a businessman. I forgot that. If you choose not to post to this site GO for it. And also, I do not see many of your posts to OTHER forum areas on this site either. It's great how you think that I have some many negative posts. Maybe you should look a little bit more at a reply I had to I FISH NON SLOTS. He was being very rude!
Adios.

Crappie Hunter,

Take it easy. I'm pretty sure it was just good natured ribbing.

Rush Lake is a fantastic fishery. I am simply amazed that year after year it can crank out good sized fish of just about every species in there (including Sheephead), and yet the fishing pressure on it is just immense. Cory makes great contributions to this forum, and I for one appreciate it. He's also an exceptional person. I'd much rather have him as a friend than a foe.

As for advertising, any small business owner should always sign their name and vitals to any kind of document. I don't see it so much as promotion but instead good business practice. You're right in stating that this is not a place for advertisment. However, I've never seen a post from Cory soliciting business. I know he keeps a link to this site on his website, and that seems like a fair trade to me. I guess that's ultimately up to Rick.

So, turn that frown upside down.

I guess I am open minded enough to say that maybe I was a little harsh. I have had a tough week. Found out my mom has cancer and I am out of a job! Maybe I will take a break from the forum for awhile. Tough times. I apologize to CTSH if I offended you. I was just a little angered at life I suppose. Didn't mean to take it out on you!!!!
Thanks and have a good week everyone.

I'd just like to thank Cory and those who's names I've forgotten already (sorry), for their efforts and participation Saturday on Rush lake. I'd have liked to chat with more of you then but was too busy not catching many fish. I did take a trip to the taxidermist on monday though. Hope to get some photos from JW and post them for all to see.

Crappie Hunter,

I hear you, brother. Though not as severe, I've kind of been on a low spot in life lately, too. You know though, fishing always helps.

Hang in there.

Hey Crappie Hunter!

I too want to apologise! I am terribly sorry to hear about your mom. It never ceases to amaze me that we can put a man on the moon, drop a bomb that can hit a pop can from a mile in the air, or be able to communicate with a bunch of great people on this thing called the internet, But, we can do nothing to eliminate a horrible, painful disease like cancer. I pray for streangth for both you and your family. As for your unemployment let me know what you do, I have numerous contacts maybe I can help you out!

Hopefuly someday we can share a spot on the lake together! If you ever want to go let me know!

Out of respect for you, I will no longer leave me phone numbers if a person wants to get in touch with me they can, via my website!

Thanks Cory
I have been through tough times before. Bad things come in 3's. I guess we are never ready for hearing about somebody we love having a terminal illness. But we are going to take it day by day. Pray and believe that this is in Gods plan.
I am a computer consultant. I am trained as a Advanced Network Support Specialist. If you know of anything that would be great. And yes someday I would like to go fishing with ya.
Thanks Again
Crappie Hunter.

Fished Rush today and had so so luck. Ended up with a limit of crappies and 3 smaller walleyes. All fish came on a pink and white angel eye. Found the crappies out in 28 feet of water during the day and towards evening moved in shallower and took the walleyes in 16 feet right on the edge of the deep water break. I was fishing the south end of West Rush.

So, that was you in the camo lund? I'm bummed, I have to head back to the cities tomorrow for a few days, then back up for at least a few weeks. Got the dock in and fired up to get out chasing some crappies till opener!

On the south end...   Lots of ice on the main basin, but it is definitely deteriorating.  Some anglers have been fishing the open water at the mouth of the Rainy River in front of the Lighthouse Gap.  The rest of the basin is still iced over. Pike enthusiasts caught some big pike earlier last week tip up fishing in pre-spawn areas adjacent to traditional spawning areas.  8 - 14' of water using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring has been the ticket.  Ice fishing for all practical purposes is done for the year. The focus for the basin moving forward will be pike transitioning into back bays to spawn,  This is open water fishing and an opportunity available as the pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. With both the ice fishing and spring fishing on the Rainy River being so good, many are looking forward to the MN Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 11th.  It should be epic. On the Rainy River...  An absolutely incredible week of walleye and sturgeon fishing on the Rain Rainy River.     Walleye anglers, as a rule, caught good numbers of fish and lots of big fish.  This spring was one for the books.   To follow that up, the sturgeon season is currently underway and although every day can be different, many boats have caught 30 - 40 sturgeon in a day!  We have heard of fish measuring into the low 70 inch range.  Lots in the 60 - 70 inch range as well.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  Open water is continuing to expand in areas with current.  The sight of open water simply is wetting the pallet of those eager for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th.   A few locals were on the ice this week, targeting pike.  Some big slimers were iced along with some muskies as well.  If you like fishing for predators, LOW is healthy!

Early bird gets the worm some say...   I have it on good authority that this very special angler caught no walleyes or muskies and that any panfish caught were released unharmed.
