Deer lake bass and 'skies.

I was out today on Deer Lake, north of Deer River doing some bass fishing. I ended up catching about 15-20 largemouth. The biggest were around 13". I also had a 20-25lb muskie chew on my tube bait, it come from under the boat and hit. I also got to watch 2 muskies in the act of spawning. I caught the bass in extremely shallow water. Some were guarding nests, but I didn't see any big bass (3lber or bigger).
Do the smallies spawn when the largies are spawning? I tried a couple rock piles for smallies with no luck. Tube baits and berkley power worms were the ticket.

My brother and I had a repeat of my first performance on Deer today. 23 largemouth, most of them in the 13-14" range with a few smaller one's mixed in. The hot bait was a Berkley Power minnow two tone gray on a 2/0 hook, fished jerkbait style. The fish were still up very shallow 1-3 feet. We didn't see any big bass and no smallies seen or caught. Do the largies and smallies spawn about the same time?

We will be on Deer starting July 2nd for a week . Do you have any suggestions where to find the bass? Or any other suggestions for walleye?
