Has anyone fished Willow Lake on Hwy. #6?Concerned mainly with the walleye action. Have you ever fished Ciscos there?

Willow had a nice population of Walleyes that ran better than average - to - large in size. But, it was totally dependant on stocking to maintain the fishery. There was enough local pressure on the lake to work that group of fish down and the practice of stocking fell out of favor at the same time. Lately they have been stocking a couple of thousand fingerlings every other year so there are some fish still in there, but I wouldn't expect it to be a grerat long term Walleye spot for you. The locals who fished that lake AND DID catch Walleyes, were almost exclusively fishing at night and there was also some Ice Fishing Pressure on it. When I fish it now we catch lots of small bass and panfish. It's supposedly managed for Northerns, but we do not intentionally fish it for them. Even though I give it sort of a thumbs down, it might still be worth spending a couple of evenings out there because it gets very little pressure these days and it's possible you will find a small but un-tapped school.
