There seems to be lots of people wanting to
on the ice so here is what I've heard so far
from the people that are venturing out.
Theres not much ice walk only check every
step with a chisel reports of three or four
inches of ice but were the snow drifts there
may be less . One guy told me he used a
number two shovel to check the ice on his
way out then chopped a hole with it to fish
out of???Some of the bigger lakes that just
froze over seem to have better ice out a
ways. Also reports that when you drill a
hole water comes up and floods the ice.
Many that have small houses say want to
spear on Monday heres somthing that may help
from getting wet feet. Check the ice the day
before and if you feel its safe and find
where you want to put your shack cut a half
dozen small holes and walk the snow down
around your area most times this will freeze
over night and will help stay dryer the next day.
