FishingMinnesota.com Decal

Recommended Posts

I would like one to stick on my vehicle.

Where can a guy get his hands on one? I don't see any on the sight anywhere.

Doesn't have to be big, bumper sticker size could work. Something I can stick in my window or something like that.

Thanks

They can be seen and ordered at

Ya know, everytime I see a truck with the FM banner, sticker, etc. on it, I am tempted to chase them down and stop them just to have a brief meeting and chit-chat with a fellow FM'er. smile.gif Put a face with a name so-to-speak.

The only reason I haven't yet is not because I don't attempt to flag them down, but because most of them drive like they're 2 days late to the lake on a 3 day vacation, and I can't keep up with them, let alone catch up with them.

Kinda like length and weight of fish...

  • 2# Bass = 5# Bass to your buddies.
  • 55 mph = 80mph on the hiway.

It's all relative. grin.gif

Maybe if Chevy didn't govern my Tahoe at 100mph, I'd have a chance. 5.3 liters of 290 hp and I have to quit @ 100mph.

Ahh well. The boat don't take well to being pulled that fast anyways. grin.gifgrin.gifwink.gif

It is nice to know if the guy sitting on the lake next to you or in the parking lot is a fellow FMer. This is one way.

Plus it is free advertisement. wink.gif

Rick,

Let's make it an epidimic!!!!

Seriously though, I would really like one. Like webwarrior said, for my vehicl and boat.

So when I see another FMer out there, I will know he is an FMer.

Spread the word brother, spread the word.

Yeap! I need one or more like three!! Some FMer has got to know. I aways like to talk to good people on the lakes and it would be cool to have one on the boat. If any other Fmer sees it they can just come over and we can see how each other is doing.
I want! I want!!!

I was thinking about that for icefishing too. If you had a white square or rectangle of canvas with the FishingMinnesota.com logo printed on it. You could sew it on or however you want to attach it to your portable house.

If FM had decals, I would buy 3. One for the car, one for the boat, and one for the portable ice tent.

Hmm...I might even make them for myself if FM decides not to make them.

I talked to a few guys about this in the Lake Of The Woods event, as of now they are for the Moderators I think. I would support the site on my truck too...

Beretta, we can make any decal that is pressure sensitive (such as car graphics, business logos on vehicles) and we can also do adhesive back stickers and even personalized graphics on truck rear window shades.
We are setting up a full service print shop that covers anything from business cards to full service screen printing to any decal that you would like made. prices would vary depending on size

What kind of decals do you make? I have a lund that the decals are getting kind of scratched up. Would you be able to make new ones for me? Or isnt that the type of thing you work on? Also if you can what kind of price range am I looking at? Thanks a lot.

we had FM bumper stickers... what happened to the link?

I too need a new one for my truck rear window. The one on the ice house is still good though.

Yeah...I have a couple on my boat that are still good, and the one on the fishhouse is still good...but...I got a new truck, so I need at least one more. I do sometimes see my old Explorer around, and it still has the bumper sticker on it...

I would also like a sticker or decal for the truck and boat. How about a blank spot so we could add our usernames to it with a marker or letter decals?

Bunch of great ideas so far.

I can see a couple real good ones though.

1)Moderators/ProStaff. I see it mentioned that decals were previously available for our moderators. Maybe they could have access to bigger decals and the rest of us FM family could have a regular size decal. I've seen the big FM logo on the side of Tom Hermans truck and the couple I saw up at the LOW IceLeaders event had big logos too (I think).

2)Blank spot for our user names! Awesome idea!!

3)This decal thing has got to be something Rick would want to control, right? Undoubtedly, the FM logo is copyrighted and someone might not think to highly of others reprinting it.

rtwill should get a hold of Paul.

We are all for having folks go through Paul Waldowski to get whatever size decal they want (that is available of course).

When Paul negotiates a deal for all of you we will make them available for all at:

I met Dennis Steele because of the LARGE sticker on his truck. He also has a couple of other "fishing related" sayings on the back of his topper. grin.gif

I'm not there, so I can't tell exactly what's going on but it looks like a large area of open water developed in the last day with all of the heavy snow on the east side of wake em up Narrows. These two photos are from my Ring Camera facing north towards Niles Point.  You can see what happened with all of snow that fell in the last three days, though the open water could have been wind driven. Hard to say. .

Black Bay had great ice before but a few spots near rockpiles where there were spots of open water. It looks like the weight of the snow has created a little lake in the middle of the bay.

On the south end...   Thanks to some cold spring weather, ice fishing continues strong for those still ice fishing.  The bite remains very good.  Most resorts have pulled their fish houses off for the year, however, some still have fish houses out and others are allowing ATV and side by sides.  Check social media or call ahead to your favorite resort for specifics. Reports this week for walleyes and saugers remain excellent.   A nice mix of jumbo perch, pike, eelpout, and an occasional crappie, tullibee or sturgeon being reported by anglers. Jigging one line and using a live minnow on the second line is the way to go.  Green, glow red, pink and gold were good colors this week.     Monster pike are on a tear!  Good number of pike, some reaching over 45 inches long, being caught using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring in 8 - 14' of water.   As always, work through a resort or outfitter for ice road conditions.  Safety first always. Fish houses are allowed on the ice through March 31st, the walleye / sauger season goes through April 14th and the pike season never ends. On the Rainy River...  The river is opened up along the Nelson Park boat ramp in Birchdale, the Frontier boat ramp and Vidas boat ramp.  This past week, much of the open water skimmed over with the single digit overnight temps.   Areas of the river have popped open again and with temps getting warmer, things are shaping up for the last stretch through the rest of the spring season, which continues through April 14th.   Very good numbers of walleyes are in the river.  Reports this week, even with fewer anglers, have been good.  When temps warm up and the sun shines, things will fire up again.   Jigs with brightly colored plastics or jigs with a frozen emerald shiner have been the desired bait on the river.  Don't overlook slow trolling crankbaits upstream as well.   Good reports of sturgeon being caught on the river as well.  Sturgeon put the feed bag on in the spring.  The bite has been very good.  Most are using a sturgeon rig with a circle hook loaded with crawlers or crawlers / frozen emerald shiners. Up at the NW Angle...  Ice fishing is winding down up at the Angle.  Walleyes, saugers, and a number of various species in the mix again this week.  The bite is still very good with good numbers of fish.  The one two punch of jigging one line and deadsticking the second line is working well.   Check with Angle resorts on transport options from Young's Bay.  Call ahead for ice road guidelines.

With the drifting, kind of hard to tell for sure, but I'm guessing about a foot and still lightly snowing. Cook end!

How much snow did you get on Vermilion?
    • Mike89
lake here refroze too...  started opening again yesterday with the wet snow and wind...  very little ice left today...
    • Hookmaster
A friend who has a cabin between Alex and Fergus said the lake he's on refroze. He texted me a pic from March 12th when it was open and one from 23rd when it wasn't. 🤯
    • SkunkedAgain
I don't think that there has been any ice melt in the past few weeks on Vermilion. Things looked like a record and then Mother Nature swept in again.   I'll give my revised guess of April 21st

As I get older it's really not just about sending bullets down range.  Some of it's just the workmanship of the gun and the wow factor. The other two guns I have really wanted which I'll never have now because of their price, is a 8mm Jap Nambu and 9mm German Luger.   Just thought they always looked cool!

I had a guy hit me with a lightly used 1969 BAR, he wanted $1650 with an older Leupold scope. More than I think they are worth, I made an offer, he declined end of story.   You know if you look at the old brochures, a grade II BAR sold for $250 in the late 60s, $1650 would be a good return on your investment.    Why would anybody want a 50 year old gun, they are heavy, have wood stocks, and blued metal.  I guess mainly to keep their gun safes glued to the floor. lol   You can probably buy a stainless rifle that you never have to clean, with a synthetic stock you never have to refinish, is as light as a feather, and for half as much money, perfect.   I'm too old for a youth gun, although I've shrunk enough that it would probably fit. lol   No Ruger 10/44s.   Jim
