Fishing University

Recommended Posts

Back in the 80's or so, Mankato State University ran a weekend program called "The Fishing University". Ran from Friday evening through Sunday early afternoon, and consisted of many different sessions (about 20 if I recall) put on by top Midwest guys like Winkleman, the Lindners, etc. There was no commercial content, no products were hyped, just pure fishing information in these sessions (although I think I recall that it was supported by Berkely who may have had a booth outside the instruction areas). You could even get college credit for attending.
Does any non-commercial educational program like this still exist in Minnesota? I'd like to send some grandkids to it.

B.A.S.S. puts on a weekend class also. It comes to the twin cities once a year. It pretty much just covers bass fishing techniques and information. It is taught by B.A.S.S. pro's. I think it costs just over $100 for the weekend, but not sure.
