Croix repo

1/8/01 St. Croix River fishing has been slow, although walleyes are being caught from shallow water, 7-14 feet during low light periods on pimples. Sauger and crappies have been hot for brief periods of the day in 38 to 42 feet of water then they go cold. The majority of the St. Croix fishing has taken place in the Bayport area, the Prescott area ice conditions where in question last week so as always be careful. Pool three backwaters have been good for pike fishing with some 12-15 pound fish coming in as well as smaller eaters. Please release the big ones. Pool three running sloughs have also been kicking out nice walleyes and saugers on spoons.
