Real Estate Info

Hey gang,

I stumbled onto this site a while back & been lurking for awhile keeping tabs on the good info you willingly share.

Since our first visit to Kab in 1995 my wife & I have returned for our limited vacation time every year except one. Our most recent stay was on the Ash River, back in Sept.

My question for anyone knowledgeable about the area is this: Could you provide any info, web-sites or contacts for finding some property in the area? We could be interested in almost anything from say Ranier/Island View over by Rainy Lake, to Kab, Namakan or maybe Crane Lake. Doesn't necessarily have to be on or very close to the water. We're most interested in a lot or acreage, but might consider something with a cabin.

Any/all suggestions appreciated.

-John

upnorth

A good starting point would be realtor.com. You can do a search by area and see all the properties listed with the local MLS. Good luck smile.gif

call rick bolstad at island view realty in the falls. he hooked me up huge a few years ago. also the century 21 folks in the falls might be a good source. otherwise lakehomes.com is a good site- click the "find lake properties" link the rainy/crane link. good luck. also ifallsdailyjournal.com has a real estate section.........which links you to island view realty.

Well most people use a fish head or two in the trap as bait.  Any type of raw  meat will probably work well. No need to purge them as they are coming out of clean water. Just boil the whole crawdad in salt water or better yet in a Cajun mix! The tails are about the only part worth messing with. Cliff

I live on Little Cormorant Lake, I believe sometime next week that it will be open.  The lakes out there are changing fast!

we got a lot snow down in the twin cities than up north and temps are a lot higher than it was in 2013.   I think we will have enough open water to fish the opener.   No one needs to cancel!  I HOPE any way

what do you use for bait?  I heard you can't use left over fish guts.   do you have to soak them?  sorry not sure what that process is called.

meerkat, Many people eat the rusties. Very tasty but like walleye wings it takes a lot for a meal! Cliff

I just got an e-mail from Brent Flatten in the Tower Fisheries Office stating that they hope to get the Dock in by Monday if the river clears of ice. Will set the trap nets on Tuesday and the first net lift will be on Wednesday. They may even collect eggs Wednesday if there are enough ripe females. Very good news! Thanks for your update Brent!
