Leech 1st Timer

I will be visiting Leech in the 2nd week of June and I am looking for any info I can get. I will be staying at a resort on Steamboat Bay. I am not too particular about what I fish for, I target whatever is biting that day. I hear the walleye, pike, and muskie fishing is good. How about panfish? I have a special place in my heart for crappies. How are the perch on Leech? I have fished on the Crow Wings the last five years down by Nevis and the perch are very small and troublesome. I will be bringing my own boat (17 foot deep-v). thanks in advance for any info. Are the notes on the Fishing Hot Spots maps an accurate guide to follow?

I have been going to Leech for every summer for about 15 years now. Although we go a little later in the summer than you are planning, we find the bite and locations are usually different each year. Don't get too caught up in the maps. They are OK for generalities but that is all. We've found the local people at Leech to be the best source of current information. I think you will find them all great people who are not only friendly but willing to help. The salesmen at Reeds Sporting Goods in Walker are especially helpful. Don't be afraid to ask.<P>------------------<BR>
