The hole was 12" in diameter. And I am 6' tall.

Say that is an excellent fish, I would say it is even bigger than the suppossed "56" incher that keeps showing up(that is not the size I was just using that for comparision as everyone on here has somethig to say about that supposed 56 incher). It does look very nice though! Were you using two pound tess? just curious

Unless your auger is attached to a backhoe I doubt its a 12 in. Looks like a 10 in hole and a 36 in pike.

Been out of town at a sports show for a few days, wow a lot of new posts!

Well my buddy the foresic biologist takes a couple hours at least of hard work to properly analyze a photo so I don't go to the well very often.

From my own personal expereince I would estimate this pike at 42-43, but that might be a touch conservative since the tail is a lot closer to the camera than the head. Nice fish.

Hmmmmm, phisherman, I wonder if u were there at the time, or if u just like being sarcastic. I am really getting tired of the sarcasm due to a nice fish that I caught. Any question on the line and Id gladly send the rod reel and line to your sarcastic mailbox. Also, I was loking at the outdor new this week, and there is a 48"{ that makes my fish look like a whale to be honest. I think none of you are the big fish kings like you say, and judging by a picture is a crock of crap. Unless u were there and saw a fish, and know, u cant judge by a pic, it is a questamation, and u all know it. I dont care if u think u caught a bigger pike or if u think mine was 5 pounds. U are all just guessing on anyones pick. Very Nice fish by the way.......Nice Job.

The sarcasm you sense on this forum is not due to your fish, which was a true trophy, but to your continued insistence that it is far, far larger than it really was.

You did measure it correctly, Brian, as you stated in an earlier post. The error you made was when you put the tape to the gaff.

Your fish looks to be exactly what your measurement confirms it to be… 36 inches + 6 inches.

I believe the appropriate term is “Being hoisted on your own petard”
