Put the coordinates for the reservation line in the gps and headed out over hillmans bridge and past the farhtest group of houses until we cam upon some really choppy ice. Set up there and fished from 1 till 8 on sat for 21 crappies between 7 guys. Caught many 2-3 pound walleyes and many more smaller eyes. I'm thinking we must have been close to that sunken island because of all the eyes. Just wish the crappies were there too. Anyone ever fish the sunken island??

Well as far as I know there is no island, not sure where you got the info.

Kelly,
I have a map from the washkish minnow station last year that labels a sunken island right out at the reservation line. THe depth is 13-14ft all over out in the middle then it rises up to 7-8ft in the middle of the lake to the reservation line. Lot's of choppy ice out there. I think next time up I will need to get some expert advice from Kelly P. Do you guide kelly? If you do I would like to contact you before I head up again. My email is [email protected]
Thanks

Ruegs23,

What was the GPS coordinate for the reservaton line?

What map datum is that coordinate in?

Thanks,
Bassman

Ruegs23,
Some call it "the sunken island" others "the mud hump". It has not done much for crappies that I know of. Some eelpout in Jan., lots of perch and some whitefish.
