Agency Bay vs. Portage Bay

Heading to Walker next Tuesday for a Wednesday business meeting. But this gives me a full day on Leech (first time). I know about Portage Bay for muskies, but how 'bout Agency Bay, it sure is a lot closer to where I'm staying. Is it as productive, or should I drive up and hit Portage Bay instead?

Portage is typically a more common muskie fishing area. There ARE muskies in Agency and near Agency, however. Maybe you want to launch from Walker, fish Walker Bay and then head over to Agency? For a first timer on the lake, Portage can be a lot easier to fish, however. The weed break along the west shore and the reeds along the east shore provide miles of muskie territory without too much effort. If the wind is right you can drift for 2 miles without starting your motor, while staying on top of a productive area. I guess I would say that the drive up to Federal Dam is probably worth your while. Just my 2 cents.
