Sunday report and thanks to Kelly-p

Hald, Kelly, NINETOE and I, along with a bunch of other folks spent most of Saturday night searching West Wind for that tackle box. Needless to say we came up empty. West Wind's coolers were probably empty once we all left too.

Here's also to Kelly, the best **** small-perch guide in the world. He got us on a real hot bite with 6-inch and 8-inch perch on Saturday, and WOW, what a feeling to reel in those monsters.

But seriously, crappie fishing was tough for me and a buddy on Saturday, even though we went where Kelly told us (must've been the wrong lures). We went where he told us on Sunday too, and did way better. Left the ice before dark with a limit. We're no meat hogs, but it's nice to have success. Got a whitefish, and landed a nice pike for pickling, too.

Kelly, thanks. You're the best.

Next time I'm in town, the Morgan will be flowing for you one night on me. Then, on the day after, I'll tell you what you did the night before.

Scoot,
Don't put me on a pedestal, I've spent a lifetime falling off them. blush.gif Remember last year when you asked me twice where to go and your BEST day was 6 fish for you and your friends?
You must also thank "stfcatfish". I sent him to a different place Sat.. NO fish. I still do not know if it was no fish problem or a not good fishermen problem. grin.gif I'll have to try that place soon just to find out.
I miss my tackle box, only 1 year old, not even comfortable yet. I'll have to go back through the past week and try to remember who all was in my white house. I'm sure someone picked it up by mistake thinking it was their buddies stuff.
There is no need to hurry with the Capt.. After this past weekend it doesn't even sound good. I'm not gonna hang around Halad or Codeman anymore. grin.gif
"stfcatfish",
The light that you said didn't work does work. Another clue to consider as to why you could only catch perch the first night. grin.gif
What took you and your Buddy so long on Sunday to fill up? Too many perch again? smile.gif
"littleitaly" an I were there tonight. Not fast but steady.
Great shot about telling me what happened. That's a 10 pointer. I've painted my truck a different color, bought a wig and sunglasses and I'm still hearing abut what that jerk kelly-p did Sat. night. blush.gif
The best great shot though was W. W. last night when I stopped by to eat last night. He asked, "Do you want some POP or something with that?" Right between the eyes!!! smile.gif

Fished exactly where Kelly told us to head for on Sunday night and had the best crappie fishing I've ever had, in terms of numbers of fish.
Despite your report of tough fishing, Kelly, we found lots of fish. Caught them with both gold and glow jigs. Three of us kept enough to eat then put the rest back. In 2.5 hours we caught somewhere around 60 fish- most were pretty nice, but none were monsters. It sure was fun to have some action after a tough weekend fishing LOW.
Kelly, thanks again for the tip on where to go. My two buddies think you are a god now. I still owe you some Captain Morgan- you will be paid some time this winter.
I kept my eye out for your tackle box, but as you might have guessed, I didn't find it.
Next time I show up I'll have a tottie or two for you. Hope you find your tackle box!!!

Well Kelly there certainly were some casulties. 1 Gerber knife , 2 stinger flashlites , and one truck key! Man talk about a difficult weekend. But hey like Barb said its all about making memories smile.gif Just think about all the stories that they will be able to tell!! smile.gif I should be out of the dog house in a couple weeks -see you then.

Me and the FIL kept 17 on sun night so we were limited out.

Kelly P:

Yeah, sure the light worked. Bet you were out there putting in a new one first thing. As to that first night, I caught TWO crappies, not none. A fine distinction, you might say, but two is WAY better than none. Maybe all those perch were just warm-ups. And as for why it took Brad and I so long to fill out on Sunday, we were also busy catching pike, whitefish and walleye, not to mention sheepshead and, of course, all the perch. I bet an underwater camera would have shown that all those fish were standing in line to bite our hooks. Not our fault if URL crappies are so meek they got muscled aside by other fish. Besides, the chairs were padded and comfortable.

Anyway, hope you're nice to my comrade from Duluth if you run into him. He's there today. If you really think he's a good guy, get him onto that hot PERCH bite.
