Forum Weekend ? (Feb. 17)

Saw that W2 and Kelly-P were discussing a weekend that the regular forum contributors could meet on Upper Red.

Not sure I can out-fish, out-lie, out-party, or out-eat you guys but I'll give it my best shot. Plus it would be great to meet everybody.

How about the weekend of Feb. 17? Its the 3 day weekend of the presidents day holiday if that makes any difference. I figured that a month's notice should be enough for everybody to make (change) plans.

I think a forum weekend is a great idea!! I am not on the forum as much as some, but would love to put some faces with the names. A month should be plenty of time and a long weekend is always good for an "adventure".

Hey Polar Bear, glad you like Kelly-p's idea. I'm in! I think it only appropriate that the man with the idea (Kelly-p) heads up the effort! I like your suggested weekend also! Lets see what Kelly-p thinks!

We are also having a I.C.E. Leaders event on Red for the weekend of February 15-17. Many of the Forum Guide/Pros and a ton of site regulars are already going to be there.
We had a blast on Winni last weekend and I know Red will be even better.
There are still spots open for this event but it will fill up.

I won't be able to make that one. I plan on coming in March depending on the conditions. I will be in Mexico fishing. Now, don't get me wrong, I would rather be at URL, but am bowing to pressure. She does let me go fishing there anyway.

Great Idea "A Forum Weekend". I already had plans to escape for a three day that weekend so I'll have an extra day to heal up. Count me in.

Question #1: Isn't this going to be just a little confusing? The sage advice is, "get away from the crowd" So... if we invite your own crowd to hang with do we have to spend the day trying to get away from them? Moving and setting up - moving and setting up - moving and setting up?

Question #2: Is the I.C.E. event that is planned for the same weekend going to be much of a conflict? Should we pick another weekend? Personally the 16th & 17th work for me.

Hey guys, I've never really posted anything here, but I read the forum daily to keep up on the advice from the locals! A small group of us from the St. Peter area are gonna be there that same weekend. Already have reservations at Hudec's for that Sunday (the Drake Motel in Blackduck Sat.) I would love to meet you guys personally. If you are half as fun in person as you are on this forum it should be awesome. Gotta be careful though my dad is coming with - you know how old folks are
