Just an idea

I think it would be very helpful if someone, maybe one of the resorts or someone on the lake, could set up a web cam. This way if a person woke up on a friday morning and was feeling like a weekend on the water, you could get on the site and check out the conditions and decide if it would be worth the 5 hour drive to the big lake. Many times in the summer I have made the 4 to 5 hour journey from the city only to find myself stuck in the cabin staring across the water hoping and praying that the lake may calm down. Does anyone else think this would be a helpful tool???

The bad part of that is that the lake can go from dead calm to whitecaps in 10 minutes so looking at the lake 4 hours before you plan on going out there would not do any good. It would be easier for you to check the forecast for Waskish or the present conditions at Waskish. My website and other sites from this area have links to the Waskish weather tower that gives present conditions and the forecast. If it's going to be blowing 20 mph it will be rough.

Kelly,
I believe I have a solution to the web-cam dilemma. Place the camera inside West Wind. If the place is standing room only it could only mean two things.

#1 - The weather is too bad to fish so everybody decided to congregate to discuss other options.

#2 - The weather is fine and everybody caught their limit and decided to congregate to discuss other options.

Either way you can't lose. Just view the web-cam, drive on up to West Wind and join the crowd.

A more adventurous solution would be to mount the web-cam on NINETOE'S truck. This way all you would need is a standard still-shot camera. We could call it the drift-cam. (hee hee)

Another option is to put one on the bill of NINETOE's hat. From what I've heard of last night we would have a lot of people on the screen saying, "You have to go home now."

now this is something I could imagine ; Ninenetoes quietly singing ; Johnnys mellow moments;--jigging a couple rods with no bait on;--Bait company on vocal backing him up!!!!! burp, chuging; --the echos across the lake from there voices calling in for gps cords? from Kelly! to get them headed back from Hudecs or West wind; Even though we live back here the smell of warm Hamms and captain Morgan lingers We will be sending our xmas cards out soon. Where did this year go? TO ALL YOU OF BEST WISHES TILL I YAK AGAIN

At least we wouldn't have to put up with an unsteady or shaky picture. The "thousand yard stare" makes for a stable hat bill camera mount.
