big boat possibility

Sandee do you think it would be possible to get a big boat to the edge of the ice, from the looks of your photos it is open close to the edge of the ramp. how much shore ice is there to the water? Thanks

There is deep shore ice, looking down into the crack it looks to be 2' deep. The ice shelf itself is probably about 15 to 20'. It's hard to tell exactly where the ramp ends.

Some are putting their boats in by dropping them unto the ice and sliding into the water. Coming out, they strap onto the trailer and winch it on by sliding it on the ice. Bunk trailers would be the ones to wait until it is open. Unless you read a post here from Rusty, he says to get the bunks wet before you try to load.

At this point, there is not enough clearance to drop the boat into the water off the trailer.
