never been to the lake looking for any help will be staying at a cabin in mid september. ways away but looking for any help in fishing the lake. areas to try. anything would be appreciated. thank you.

I have stayed at Brown's Silver Beach Lodge and Lyon's Pine Aire both are on the North side of the lake. The prices are decent. My father-in-law has been going there for over 35+ years. It is a good lake. Should be some good fishing. Have fun.

When I hear the name Kabekona, two things come to mind-<BR>Big Lake Trout and Big Walleye.<BR>This is a classic night bite walleye lake. I would suggest trying the open-water trolling technique described by Toad in the Brainerd Forum. This lake has all the right ingredients- Large walleye, high population of ciscos and large deep basins. Give it a try. There are not many walleye here, but the ones that are there are big.<BR>As far as the lakers go, Shaq rules...hehehehe....no, seriously, The DNR stocked them quite heavily in the 80's but have since stopped the program. You might be lucky enough to get into one while open-water trolling.<BR>Good luck<BR>>"////=<

Try the sunken islands on the East side of the lake early in the morning or right before dark. Slip Bobbers with leeches or a slow troll. The north side of the lake is a nice place to troll at night from Brown's Silver Beach Lodge to Cry of the Loon Lodge. The flats over on the SE side are another good place at night to troll. Also try the area in front of the docks by Point Of Pines right close to the dock and head West. The West end of the lake holds a lot of cabbage nice place for northerns in the early morning hours.
