When is best?

I have never fished the Rainy before, but I am going up there this year. My question is: Is the fishing usually better RIGHT after the ice out, or is it better closer to 4/14, or doesn't it really matter? Thanks for the help!

That's a hard one to answer, I say the if you can time it perfect it would be for sure before the big run off that makes the water muddy and water temps from 35deg. to 40 deg. But if this happens in febuary or early March then I say daylight and calander play a big part.
