With the late thaw Tom and Sandee, don't you thnk the opener could be VERY GOOD on the Rainy River your way Sandee?

An uncrowded opener with LOTS of walleyes. That could be a dream come true out of your area Sandee????

I believe it will be a good opener on the river. Jigs and minnows will likely be the best presentation here early on. Post spawn males will be the bulk of the catch but there are always a few females leftover that are hanging around and bulking back up.

Traditional early spring fishing areas will still be the key areas, the walleyes should be found along the entire system from Birchdale to Wheeler's Point and beyond.

New line, sharpened hooks, boat's ready!!

Can't wait.
Good Luck to all across beautiful Minnesota.

Oh I think so Rick! If it's anything like last year, it should be fantastic fishing. And NO CROWDS!! We will be out on Saturday fishing the river with camera in hand.

We have had a similiar weather pattern as last year, cooler than normal, low water and a late spring. How come your not coming up Rick?? grin.gif
