How did the recent storm effect the area? Lots of snow & ice? Looking to come up this evening and any info would be appreciated.

Still ice at Frontier, although Birchdale has slush and chunks of ice. There are a few open holes, although anglers are not venturing far from the ramp, to be safe not to get "locked" in the river from ice chunks coming down the river.

Sun tomorrow should help, there is alot of heat in the sun this time of year. If not fishable tomorrow, should be better by Sunday.

We will check tomorrow afternoon to see if the ice is going. Ramps should be OK for big boats once it re-opens.

Think warm!!

We got about 4-6" of snow from yesterday afternoon through this morning. It is snowing lightly now. Forecast is for clearing with a "party cloudy" sky for tomorrow. The snow, cold wind and overnight temperature of 17 last night put an inch of ice on the river. It is breaking up as I write this post. Anglers pulled off the river at Birchdale this morning, waiting on the ice to work it's way down river from Birchdale.

We have 2 anglers that just headed up river, going to try either Franze Jevne or Birchdale area.

Will update as information comes in. Check out our web site.

There is still ice on the river, it is breaking up and there are over 120 boats in the river from Birchdale to Frontier. No one back in camp for a fishing report yet. Current is slow so the ice is slow in moving. Ice is thin and is breakable by boat. Warmer days in the forecast, will only improve this week, as fishing should with the water temperatures. The only down fall I see is the low current. Be ready to try a different technique if yours is not working!!

Pictures are posted on our web site.

Hi Sandee -

Is the current slow enough to anchor and fish with slip bobbers?

I am planning on taking a couple of my kids for a day and it would be great if we could get a way with doing that.

Later - Bob
