I will be coming up this weekend and was wondering how much the weather affects the fall bite. The reports that I have seen have said it will be cool this week. Thanks for any help!

Hey walleye wegs, it will only improve the bite. Water temps as of Friday were holding at 48 degrees.

Granted I have only fished that river two days now I guess I could suggest a couple things.

Key in BIG TIME on the bottom structure.

Look for extreme variations in the contour and give them a good 15-30 minutes before moving off. Don;t sit on one spot too long if there isn't anything going!

The rapids up stream from the Birchdale landing was the best. However, there were fish everywhere.
Make sure you stop in and ask Rick and Sandee at Clementson's for a new reoprt or hop on there site.

DOn't forget there are some fantastic smallmouth in that river!!!!

Unfortunately, I live in the extreme SE part of the state, so an 8+ hour drive to the rainy is out of the question this weekend.
