gps coordinates

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have gps coordinates for the rainy river, from the gap inland. I'm just looking for any good points/structures/holes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a GPS and don't even used it on the Rainy. I'm new to Area but have found that they seem to be all over.

Matt,

You'll note a definite lack of structure on a large portion of the Rainy. However, there are some (many) spots that are better than others. Ask around, snoop, do detective work- you'll get good info. At this time of year I'd head outside of the gap or in the bay (4-mile). In the bay look for the channel and fish the edges. Also, the river has a ton of great water/spots. Do your homework and you'll find fish.
Don't be afraid to move around a lot.

This may be an exceptional year on the river. This year the current is slow, meaning the walleyes are more spread out and not holding in the "holes" as much as normal. We are finding them all over the river, but at this time it is more smaller ones, with a few in the eater size.

Fishing techniques change on the river daily, one area is good one day and then not the next. Wind is a factor also.

Good Luck!
