Sturgeon fishing re-opened on June 30th. Already many big sturgeons are being caught. Just a jig and a minnow, jigging off the bottom 6 inches or just let it sit. Color doesn't matter. Fishing the Rainy now requires a 1-oz jig with the strong current. Sturgeon are also jumping.
Walleye fishing: Fish have gone deep with the warmer temperatures. We caught a few small walleyes and saugers yesterday along with a 50" sturgeon. All were released.
Northern: Working shorelines and into any creeks are producing some nice northern pike. Biggest recently was 13 pounds, but not long enough to keep.
