Weekend -Cold Spring Area

We're heading to Cold Spring Friday for a weekend of fishing. We typically fish South Cental lakes but we're heading North to fish with the brother and father-in-law. Any advice/local knowledge is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Feel free to email [email protected] if you don't want to post here.

What type of fish are you looking to catch. If you want pan fish the chain is good just look and see where people are writing in posts on here. When i was home over break i did well on cedar, but i heard that slowed down. JUst look at what is being written. But if all else fails Cedar Island will Provide you with something at least.

By the way i go to school in Fargo but am from COld spring

are you from iowa, I hope so, I love iowa! Go Hawks! ceder island is a good place for crappies, find all the houses set up on the break off the big islands. sunfish, pearl lake is full of small sunfish, horseshoe lake on the chain for catfish, fish the deep hole in the main basin, 40-50 feet water. Hey Hawkeye,

I have heard some good fishing reports lately about the chain but I am wondering since it is going to be so cold tomorrow, don't you think we would have better luck catching bottle bass at the Side Bar???

Thanks for the responses. We're looking for anything that will keep us entertained. If that means staying indoors at the Side to stay warm and catch some bottle bass, so be it. Also, yes I am from the Hawkeye State, GO HAWKS!! Thanks for any additional info. FISH ON.....RIPPIN LIPS.
