Cat Help?

I have never fished catfish. What is it all about. Are they any good to eat. How do you fish them and where. Someone please inform me?

I don't know about the eating of Cats as I am a catch and release guy. The Horse shoe chain of lakes holds cats and is a good place to try. The presentation varies but cut bait fished very still on the bottom tends to produce.

The chain is the only place that I have fished for them and I catch all of mine on small jigging spoons. I experimented and kept two last week. I cleaned them like a normal fish, and coated them in crushed cracker and lemon pepper, deep fried them and it tasted great. Good Luck, -Ding

I am out to catch the cats but I always try to take a few home. I will eat a cat before any other fish. I skin mine like a bullhead and then filet the meat off the back bone. Not keeping the belly meat as we have found that w/ bullheads it is the part that tastes muddy. Now I have heard that you can filet the skin right off and I believe if you ask Dennis he will tell you exactly how to do it.

Nothing compares to a batter fried cat off the chain.
