Weekend report

At least we get a few hours for fishing on
most weekends.
Southwest wind had us back at Zipple Bay
again fishing 24 to 30 feet deep. Out in
front of the field there is a pretty good
drop off and the fish were scattered from
top to bottom. Again there were lots of
small fish but we kept a dozen for the
3 of us and 5 nice big perch!.
Sunday morning its was still drizzling when
we got up and the wind was already blowing
pretty good out of the NW so we packed it
up and came home.
There is a pretty good trolling bite in the
medium deep water out from Warroad. The area
from around 5 mile over to South Point and
Whiskey Flats. Not at any of the those places but all of the area inbetween. 20 to
25 feet or the deepest water you can find.
This is a good opportunity to learn to pull
deep divers, or crankbaits with lead core
or clip weights. These arent big fish
but you will get some keepers. You will
also have a chance to know there are some
biting fish around for the first time or
two you troll deep water.
Get out when the weather lets you.
------------------
Curt Quesnell
NorthCountry Outdoors Radio

Curt, you did well! I fished Saturday from 10:00 - 3:30 and saw very few nets. I was pulling plugs and caught two that were too big to eat and three very little ones. It sounded like some charters were doing fair but some were doing poorly. The water was sure dirty--and COLD! Coming out of Bostic it was 54 degrees-58 in the main lake. Made for chilly spray even. Makes you wonder what will happen when fall gets here!!

srj: How are you enjoying your new place on Bostic. Hopefully you're having a great time and enjoying the new venture. Bill
