Anyone been icefishing these lakes? I see nice panfish during the spring and summer in these lakes while bowfishing. Especially interested in Lida. My interest is panfish.

I don't get to Lida much in the winter, but I live right by Dead. I've tried it for sunfish but haven't done well. Didn't have time to move around much though.....

if you remember it was really cold and really windy.so i didn't hole jump alot but did manage to keep some nice gills in the 8-9" range.it was real wierd though seemd like every body that came out fishing showed up late in the am and left early afternoon.in fact our best bight was 3-5pm.

Has anyone heard if the bluegill bite is still on at Lida? It's been about a month since the last post here. Actually, I was thinking about heading up there around the 21st of March. Is there still ice fishing going on then (usually?)

I was born and raised on Lida....I have not fished it for a couple of weeks but I assume with this cold weather, it will still be a good place to try for gills. I am more up on the walleye spot but I have heard that people are having good luck catching panfish near kansas point. The real good spots are found on south Lida but they are hard to get to without a sled or 4x4. I would suggest stoping in at the bait shop in Pelican Rapids and asking them for locations on Lida. The bait shop is located in the gas station found on the corner of Hwy 108 & 59. Good luck fishing....
