What are fall patterns on Vermillion

Recommended Posts

Fall fishing on the Big V is just like anywhere else. Sharp drops on mainlake points and shoreline breaks, are one of the best locations to start.

Jigs and minnows or lindys with a "Big"
minnow are the most productive livebait
presentations. Trolling cranks can also produce some nice eyes this time of the year.

The east end of Vermilion has rolled over and the walleye action has been great. In 90 minutes of fishing Tuesday we boated 14 walleyes and 8 JUMBO perch all on jigs and 4" sucker minnows. smile.gif

Deep transition areas adjacent to main lake points have been the key locations for me this week. 3/8oz jigs in several bright colors have been very effective.

Some of the perch were in the 13 to 14" range and the walleyes ranged from 14" to 21", with most of them around 16".
This bite should last until ice-up, the weather for the weekend looks great. smile.gif
