Arnesen's?

I am heading up to Arnesen's this weekend and just wondering if anyone has any reports from that area. Any help would be appreciated!

I fished the area the 12th,13th, &14. Fish were all over the place on the vexilar but tough to bite. Purple and blue were good set line colors. While jigging, you could go quite a while with small tap tap bites, then put on a RED glow jig and they would inhale it, then slow down again. Try the shallows towrd 4-4:0 til dark, the fish are moving in, as are the pike. Good Luck and stay dry.

lotwnut, here is the skinny:<P>I fished up at Arnesens on Saturday and Sunday (3/20-3/22)and did pretty good. The fish are not hitting big jigs so start with something small. I used a gold and orange forage minnow and a small JR Crusher and did fair. I had to have the whole minnow on the jig in order for the fish to bite. Heads on jigs were not working. For deadsticks, we caught the majority of our fish on a small jig-a-whopper in a firetiger color. That hook iced more than 1/2 the fish for the weekend. We caught 12 keepers on Saturday and 22 on Sunday for 2 guys so the fishing was better on Sunday. We also tried shiners with no luck so don't waste your money bringing any. The size was not great, but had 2 that were 16 inchers. Most houses are east of the resort over towards Twin Island in 28-34 feet. I would highly highly recommend fishing the shallows at dusk!!! Everybody I know that tried it got at least 6 per person in about 1 hour. 12-14 feet. Just talk to Danny or Albert or any other driver to tell them that is what you want to do. You may want to slide them like a $10 tip while you ask, but I will leave that up to you. If you want more details, drop me a line. [email protected]
