lake alexander or fishtrap?

going to be headed up to my brother's the last week in oct i've fished alex in the fall but haven't had the luck that i get in the spring time. i know that low light conditions are best for alex and even cloudy day's .
looking at my hot spot's lake map their are a alot of hump,s and sunken flat's those i believe should be my first stop on the water, but are some better than other's? see ya on the lake.

Don't know if you're into muskies at all, but if so, Alex is a sleeper in late fall. Troll Super Shad Raps along steep drops for 'skies as well as some big bonus pike.

In my experience, walleyes use many of the structures around Duck Nest Island in October. Fish the rock capped humps just east of the island, as well as straight off the points of the island itself (on the north and south sides). Nice steep drops with hard bottom off both areas. Couple other areas to try are off the ends of the points on the southeast side of the lake (in front of two separate bays).

If you have a hard time getting walleyes to bite, consider a plain old hook and split shot rig with a big shiner or red tail chub. 'Eyes can be pretty spooky on Alex on occasion. Hang on for the bonus big smallmouth, too!

hey toad,

went to alex on 10-22, boy o boy did the conditions seem right. over cast and a nice south breeze it just couldn't get any better.
i was lindy riggin w/ shiners didn't get any hits.could'nt get any red tails i guess their done for the season? went just west of the boat launch(on the east side) we were jigging shiners in about 15-18 feet right on the weed edge. managed to pull up a few small ones nothing to brag about. chat with ya later .
