was just up at sportsmans fishing was great the guides have been working hard and are on the fish. we caught alot of fish one 10.5 and released an 8 30 fow outside the gap. superb accomadations figured i'd pass some eye info on.

GBO - How far out were the houses (other than 30 FOW). Is there a lot of standing water/slush on the ice? How was the perch bite? We're venturing up there next weekend. Hoping to find some big Wallies and Mongo Perch!!! Scheduling the only ice fishing trip of the year for March sucks... the anticipation is killing me. I need my online fix!!!

I am making my first trip to the big pond of the north and am staying at sportsmans as well. Next weekend can not come quick enough.<P>Any particular lures work better then others? Deadstick or jigging? Bait?<P>The info is greatly appreciated!

we were in the first group of sportsmans houses,just outside of gap. the folks out further did very well also.the top guide jim figured the bite should last awhile if the weather stays warm and stable. we were useind<BR>g gold jigs and glowies but my favorite was a silver swedish with 6 inches of line attached under it with a single hook, so it is used as a flasher,did well. not slushy yet snow is really sticky. have fun and slam them hard!!!!!
