Friday Fishing

Scenic

Fishing on the big lake was tough for those not in a house on Friday with chilling winds blowing across the lake. The cold front slowed fishing down some but once located the fish could be convinced to bite.

We found that the Scenic Tackle Perch Jigging Spoon and the Gold Angel Eye tipped with a minnow head worked better then anything else we tried. The perch are biting VERY light and a very light rod is recommended to detect this bite. Watch the rod tip when you lift it to jig. Often times the fish will be just holding on to your bait.

We also located suspended Walleye yesterday in 27' of water suspended up to 10' off the bottom. These eyes are chasing the tulibees and we found them to be aggressive. Be aware of the slot size.

One last thing.. Stay on the roads or use ATVs or snowmobiles out there. Judd's resort has excellent roads and with the current winds we have had their staff is working extra hard to keep these roads open. Please do not drill holes close to the roads as flooding is occurring when that is done. Off roading far is NOT recommended unless you have a big shovel and a strong back!!

Good Luck!!!!
