How goes things WT? Did you get signed up for Strieff's summer tourney yet?

Posted

Hey Frisky:
Hanging in there...
Yes, we are number 7 out of the shoot.
You?

Posted

Partner is out of state till mid february so I gotta wait till he's back and sure he's wanting too, though he told me it's a go I better wait. Wade told me the other day they already have 20 some entered and that I better hurry. Little more coin this year. I'm hoping to bid on you for the Calcutta this year.....You guys are due to place in the money!
FRISKY

Maybe lucking number 7 will be our year.
My archrival from work here is number 6 out of the gate, so at least I will get to rooster tail him on the way by. That will be some satisfaction if nothing else!
You fishing this weekend?

Posted

Saturday I'll be out with a buddy and his kid's in one of Arnesons big huts, his boy's Bday present, should be fun....Wonder where they'll stick us though. Sunday I know some folks from the cities that'll be up here and URL and I'm gonna try and hook up with them somewhere's somehow. Lucky 7 huh, last year I had lucky 62, my birth year, no such luck, but we did okay. My partner was happy 'cause we beat his old school teachers, and his boss! His boss got one of the few goose eggs! I just as soon go last flight as I won't be doing the rocks....troll, troll, troll you know.

I'll be around your favorite perching area. I see Arnesons have quite a few houses out that way too. If you happen to be in one of those, flag me down.
PS: 62 is a good year.
[This message has been edited by widetrack (edited 02-03-2004).]

I'll bring the binoc's and a flaregun! What portable you sporting this weekend? I imagine you'll be on the widetrack Widetrack? How you been doing out there, you been on that way north one I reckon? If they stick us out that way we should do okay anyways.
fiskyknut

I have a green Otter, a green, and black widetrak, and a brand spanky new Eskimo shark auger... The one with the chainsaw engine. Put gas in it today for the first time, and it started on the very first pull.
Maybe that is a good omen.
I've been fishing the in between one, a little to the East. Arnesons have the other 2 covered up pretty good. Last trip out was poor, but it had been very good. I think it was just the day.

Did you pick up the last shark at Marvin's homecenter? I darn near snagged it last week!

Posted

Nope that's not the one with the chainsaw motor. I got mine from Wade. 10"

Hey Fisky - Nice to see ya back Bud!

Widetrack,
No wake jumping this year. When we pass bigeasy lets slow down to at least 45mph!!!!!

Posted

Eyebuster, he rods that Ranger really hard cause he's working on getting setup with another new one like the last time.
It'll be kinda rough like 2 years ago and you guys will be able to go wave spearing again.
Fisky
[This message has been edited by fiskyknut (edited 02-03-2004).]

Widetrack,
I have two things you need to know:
1. You're going to need the lucky number 7.
2. The only arch rival you have will be riding in your boat. Remember he doesn't have the confidence to go for more than 24 malted beverages.

Posted

Hey Big Easy,
That's a pretty big compliment having widetrack consider you his rival even if he did qualify it with “arch”.
Posted

WT, do you have a web address for Streiff's? I would like to know what number we got for the tourney.

Posted

See how easy it is to hook the BIG ones?
You just have to use good bait, and they come out of the weeds everytime!

Posted

Ripper:
Streiffsportinggoods dot com
I think you will have to call them though.

Posted

Yikes WT, that is one big, scarey thing you baited in....You better shake that thing off!

Ok, how did we get from crappies and freezing temps to pond slime eaters in south America? Focus! 🙄

The locals there shoot ducks but don't hunt them. If they see a bunch on a pond they'll sneak up and water swat them but it's strictly for food not sport. My buddy runs an outfitter so him and I will hunt a few days and scout then I'll help him with a group whose coming mid week. He's from there. Hoping he can come to Canada next year with me. He's never seen or shot a goose

Awesome kind of trip! I figured there would be a local benefit if you couldn’t bring them back (not saying you can’t). Having a connection down there is pretty cool! We donated a good share of meat to the village in Kotzebue, AK instead of shipping it all back. Pretty pricey and they really appreciated it. Win/win.

I don't bring them back, eat a lot then clean them for the village. Some like them plucked and some like the breasts cut out. It's really remote where I go and the locals live off the land. I know they want me to go get some doves for them too. My buddy is a local so we'll probably go get a deer as well for some venison for some of the elders in the community

Ya cooked em wrong! lol! Not even sure if you can bring ‘em back from Central America? You can’t from Argentina, last I heard.
