16 mile report - 1/30 - 2/1

First, thanks to many of you guys for the reports. It is more helpful than you know to post your thoughts and "secret" tips.<P>My report:<BR>We got out late Friday and didn't know that Richard Babbler had plowed the road. Took snowmos and about froze. Needed a GPS to find the way (again, thanks to you guys for the GPS posting) <P>Only fished 2 hours to dark and caught a few jumbo perch and 5 saugers.<P>Saturday was awesome! The wind was down and we caught 27 eyes / saugers and kept 30 perch (12 - 13 inchers - no lie. The perch hit mostly on a red glow devil 1/16, as did many eyes. Fought a nine pound pout for several minutes. Used minnows heads mostly but reverse hooked rosy reds too with success. <P>Sunday we caught few perch...hard to move in a permanent to find them. But the saugers and eyes were more than willing.<P>The silence on the lake was deafening. Not many people out. I guess Babbler may not be plowing the road much until March.<P>Great to get away to a remote place without radios and tvs. Just good fishing and great people in the area to visit with.
