Coming home advice...

I'm coming home to Aitkin and want to get over some fish. Has anyone been catching fish consistently on any local lakes? Is Hanson any good for crappies anymore? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome home. Hansen is packed full of Crappies and Pike, Size has declined. Hanging Kettle,Ripple,Minnewawa,Nord and Section 10 are good bets.

I fished Hansen just outside of Aitkin a few years back.

We got alot of Crappies, but like D-man said, the size wasn't anything to brag over. We did get our limits though of 10" fish, which in my opinion are the best eating anyways. We just had to search through them.

We went out during Christmas and caught about 30 between 4 of us, but I thought maybe the cold front pushed them out. Thanks for the update guys. I'm excited to get my father out this weekend. Any 'eyes in the area? Thanks again!

South of Aitkin WLADIMIRAF (Section 10)lake.
Drive on through the public access and go all the way across the lake to the other end to the 17 foot hole. There are nice Bluegills there that bite during the day.
