Going to be going up to Effie on Wed. Wondering how the fishing has been on Cutfoot? Also are there any northern ducks coming down?

Not too sure about the Walleye fishing, but I was duck hunting last weekend. Bluebills seem to be the most abundant thing around. You'll find some pretty good bill shooting if you're patient. A few mallards are starting to filter down, but nothing to write home about. We did get a couple of Woodies as well. Your best bet is on big water points for those divers. All in all, duck hunting was pretty slow. Grouse hunting in the Effie area has been fabulous.

Where are some good spots or lakes to find these birds near effie. We are stayig at a buddy from Rapids trailer in Cragsville. Also is it really wet around there or are the trails pretty dry for grouse?

Just wondering if you put a dent in the northern Minnesota bird population. Hope you had a good trip!

Yes, we put a good dent in the pop. The mallards were around in great numbers. Shot a couple woodies too. The grouse on the other hand were pretty scarce, and so were the hunters. For once effie's gravel roads wernt supper highways, which was greta to see. Now just got to wait till deer season to come back up. Might do some more duck hunting if i get a deer.
