This fire potentially could have been much worse, and thankfully no one was hurt! However, a historically significant (to the resort) building was unfortunately lost as well as thousands of $$ worth of inventory in resort merchandise and antiques related to the history of the resort. Knowing my MN family, they will indeed recover from this and the resort will continue to provide a welcome respite from the hectic everyday world on the best lake in MN.

Was staying at resort last week when fire happened. Started around 1:15 a.m. Burned gazebo, bait house, store/game room. Called 911 around that time. 40 minutes for fire department to get there. Fire boat came also and saved the day with big pumps. Not much could have been done. Lucky no wind that night. Most of guests were ready to evacuate if needed. Bad deal. Been going there for 53 years.
