Humminbird Helix Ice Units

I see a lot of people asking questions around the Humminbird Helix series for ice fishing. In this video I walk through how I setup my unit:

No, I haven’t seen people asking on here.  But thanks for the vid.  I’ve been considering one of these to buy this year but landed a deal on a MX7. 
 

I’ll get to compare the two side by side eventually this season when I fish with a couple people who have them.

Been using my Helix 8 g3n for two years now, take it out of the boat, set it up for ice on a shuttle. Was fishing with my son who has a smaller Lowrance and he would watch my Helix more than his while in the shack, more detail to be seen on the much larger screen, only problem was in 20 fow and I could see 3 lines at the same time, his, mine and a tip up just outside the shack, 15 degree cone and gain on 1 and no IR. One of my rods has 4lb braid and could see the line as well, at first thought it was interference from the Lowrance until he took it with him to hole hop and could watch the line move as I jigged, no interference.
