Hi All,

I have just purchased a cabin in Frazer bay. We are in need of a recommended cabin inspector. Would anyone be able to provide a recommended contact?

Out of curiosity, if you already bought the cabin what do you need inspected at this point?

Maybe he means the have an offer accepted that is contingent upon inspection, similar to a house sale?

Any realtor should have a contact for an inspector.

True.

For the OP, I should have mentioned that I don't know any inspectors.

Most importantly, we should welcome Muskysteve to the forums. There is a lot of great info here about many topics. Search the forums or even just review the fishing reports because there is a ton of information going back years. Feel free to ask questions and join the online family.

I should have stated differently. Offer accepted, sale contingent on inspection. My realtor has provided a contact for inspector, so all set  now. Been fishing vermilion for a decade staying with a buddy on the lake. Have followed the forum for a while as well. Looking forward to exchanging info, I do have some good intel to share but looking forward to learning a lot!

Congrats on the cabin!  Thanks for clarifying and not just dismissing us as over-analytical buffoons. 😄

Hope the cabin is a gem and we see you around here going forward!

Well I can certainly be a buffoon of all manners, but it's good that the rest of you didn't get lumped in with me.

Congrats on the cabin Muskysteve.

If I knew that, I would have chosen a different screen name. However, I can tell you where the ticks and pine trees are...

I got that covered... Northerns too.  Wife wants a walleye dinner.  Claims she can tell it from nords or bass.

Not sure if I can do that, we are getting ready to head home pretty soon.   Got some medical checkups.

But sure appreciate the offer. Daughter and grandkids here at the moment

Looks like my Canada trip in August may not be able to happen due to uncertainty that boarder will open in time. Our group is tossing around the idea of going up
to lake vermilion instead. I am wondering if anyone has advise on where to stay. I have done some looking around and most resorts rent by the week. Any info would be greatly appreciated

There is an article in the Timberjay asking people to complete a survey that would help bring broadband to the area. I don't know much about this so I'm not promoting anything except for awareness.

I’m not even sure if I’m in the right page I just signed up but my question is I just purchased a boat from a private seller went to his home the boat fired up I purchased the boat, the day before I brought it out which was about a week and a half later it fired up brought it to the lake the next day it fired up boated around for about 25 minutes found a spot to fish It was off for about an hour or so went to start it back up and it would not fire back up had to be towed off the lake so the moral of the story is there anyway I can go back and get my money legally without no trouble or what is my next step if the seller does not want to give the money back?

Greetings....I'm searching for an original TUFFY (molded metal, left side or set of 2) TRANSOM CORNER for a rebuild on a 1985 Tuffy Muskie. Several TUFFY boats had these so being specifically from a Marauder may not be necessary. Wondering if anyone can help in locating one from a dealer or private party who may have upgraded to more modern transom corners/caps....maybe a boat that's been abandoned or scraped.
Photo attached of the right-rear that I am trying to  set-match to. The right side I have. Need to get a left side cap.
      Thanks for any assistance.

Do any of you guys know if Surface Tension still swims around these parts? I think I need my Nils sharpened. I had sent him a message through the HSO forum a while ago and didn't hear back. I'm not sure if HSO and Fishing MN share the same messaging platform, or if I need to try him here instead. Did a quick search and it doesn't look like he's posted in a while, so I'm hoping someone knows his whereabouts.

Nice work gents! Looks like the back-end of summer bite is heating up. Love this time of year as we head into Sept. How is the water level with all the storms passing through? Has looked rainy lately. Last I was up was early July after that 8" rain storm and the levels were back up to normal after being low in June.

Good luck fishing! Im also fond of fly fishing. I find it easier to fish when you have the best fly fishing rods. If youre looking to upgrade your rod, you can check here.

Seven specie day today.  Live bait not required!  Couple of things of note...   I caught eight nice crappies this morning on a deep rock reef, along with a bunch of plump gills. Seems odd, but I’ll take it.  This afternoon, I targeted ciscos and whitefish out over the basin. Success!  Was happy since I now know whitefish can be targeted year round, not just thru the ice.  I also enjoyed the challenge of a different species that not many folks know about.  Was a unique and fun experience.  By the way, everything I caught was immediately released.

Our week (7/25-8/1) wasn't greatly productive fish wise but I could never really get a pattern to work. I usually use a lindy rig with a half crawler. When we did try jig/minnow not much either. The start of the week the wind was tough to hold on a spot. Later we had no wind and high temps. I marked some surface temps that were like 78 deg, that's pretty warm.   I went down to Brule narrows one day, never been before. Picked a reef and caught a 19" eye pretty quick and then boat control got to be an issue.   Might try a week in Sept once I am retired (Friday is my last day) but I sure miss the ability to fish north of the border.   Bill

What is the best time of year for brookies. I've tried spring but waters too cold, summer, bugs bad but fishing good. Never tried fall but I am think that might be the ticket. Usually use worms but sometimes spinner. Is there a special trick to keep the chubs away? Lots of them in my creek.

Good luck with your toilet. LOL Let me know how it works after a weekend when the kids and grandkids are there using it? Not sure how the Biolet works, we had a top of the line Sun Mar. There is a tray in the bottom of the unit that is supposed to hold the extra urine that goes through the compost material. After a weekend with 5 females, and 3 males using it that tray would be full to overflowing. Wouldn't have been a problem if the girls would have cleaned it out. They didn't, I had to. The whole bottom of that unit would have an inch of urine in there, that is GROSS!   Oh yea, there's an overflow tube on the Sun Mar. This would fill up with the fine compost material, and plug up, now where do you think the overflow goes? And yes, I had 2 fans in my exhaust pipe, no it didn't help it dry out any faster, but they did help keep the smell down. The only thing I can say about ours is that there are plenty of people out there that wanted to buy it when we were done using it. They do keep a good value, especially up here. If I was you I'd check out more than one brand, and one user. I'm guessin if you posted a question on facebook, you might get a variety of user opinions. We hated ours, maybe you'll love yours. I'll just leave this topic alone, and wish you good luck. lol Jim
