I'll be out with the spud bar next weekend taking it easy.  @papadarv I hope you have enough ice to test it out.  Looks like a fun set up.

Be safe, still saw some open water this week.  It will build some ice in the next few days, but with the snow, its better to be safe than sorry.   NO fish is worth it.

That a few people drop through Coon Lake every year, especially by the channel.  Good luck and stay safe!

Had a co-worker that found 7 inches of ice in the channel on Chisago over the weekend and I found five inches on Peltier today.

I wish I had my old sled, just for towing my equipment across the lakes. It was a 292 cc, weight was only 190 lbs. I could pull a 6x8ft fish house across the lake, along with a 100 lb propane tank no issues.

12/21/19 Finally got out on Coon in Anoka. 6" good ice topped with 2" white ice an 4" snow just off shore. 100 yards out 14 FOW 5 1/2" good ice 1/2" white ice and 1/4" water. Area by a crack. 1000 ft. Off shore 20 FOW, 5" good ice, no white ice, 1/2" water, 4" light snow. Lots of small perch and gills. Son and I got a double of the monster perch. Riding SnoDog worked great & love the new Vex. Great day on ice.

I’ll never understand the logic behind parking all together cuz you don’t think the ice is safe to drive on. 🤦‍♂️

You should of seen Osakis last week one day well over 15n trucks all parked together off the Hill access out 20-30 yds  on 30 ft of water crazy Ask yourself what do you gain by doing it just park on rd and walk down. For those that don't know Osakis there r two gravel rds leading into access that you can park on and walk down to lake. You gained 100 yds dragging max to put yourself through a chance of ending up like these guys.

The outfitter on mille lacs that pulls out my father in laws fish house for the season, plows out a seperate parking spot for your vehicle at least 20-25 yds from the fish house, and makes a firm point to not park next to your fish house.
