Our first ice report of the year. Currently up to around 50 yards off our landing we have 6 inches of really good ice. Almost all areas did have a little water on top of the ice and a few had some slushy areas. We will let it set up over the couple of days and then if all goes well start to stake a few trails out. Stay tuned for more updates. -

I fish bass primarily and your not wrong. No harm in keeping the smaller bass for management, they are tasty. -

I agree that late in the year it would be unusual, and it is definitely out of its normal habitat, but see below, once you see the head it makes sense. It took me awhile to see it, i thought it was a joke at first. The black throat patches match -
