I was lead core trolling about 18 feet down with a #5 Shad Rap and caught two crappies.  Big.  This totally surprised me and this will change the way I fish for them.  They were eating the bugs hatching on the bottom, and from now on if I mark fish and cannot seem to get them using my walleye lures I will definetely try some smaller crappie lures before I leave.  I am sure they are in schools roaming the bottom looking for food.

I have caught some nice crappies on the big V trolling for walleyes with Lindy's but it is few and far between and would not count on it as normal.
