It's at the hockey arena in Alex. Go into Alex thru town to the statue take a left.

I'll be there in the morning. Think it starts about 9 am. By the way bring lots of cash there's some awesome stuff on the silent auction

Well glad I went to this.! The carvings,  working decoys and custom spears were amazing some peoples talents  are truly inspiring! The items there brought back some great memories of me and my fathers spearing days together. 😀 Had the good fortune of running into Smurfy we had a good chat both of us were blown away by a hand carved ruffed grouse on a log it was absolutey one of the best pieces i've ever seen the detailing was behond imagination.  Price was $3,000 which explains the workmanship and time put into it I should of took a pic. Smurfy introduced me to Mike 89 it was great to finally meet you hopefully in the future we will get more time to know each other. . Thanks again for posting this show I guarantee ill be back again next year.

It ain’t over already is it?

I asked my my wife if she wanted to go instead of installing her new kitchen appliances.  Guess which one she picked?  I’ve been to that show a couple times.  Always plenty to look at but the high point would’ve been pressing the flesh with you other site members.

And I actually mean that. 👍

i just missed realizing bound was on. i like that show but on at an odd time.

last year i asked him about making a perch decoy. he had some but it wasnt the fine detail i was looking for but didnt seem interested in doing one special for me so i thought he was a bit smug. but then again all the other carvers didnt have one i wanted either.

Hey guys and gals. I am going up to lake kabetogama around June 18 for 2-3 days targeting pike. I have been up several times and not caught anything over 25 inches. I want to try and locate a true monster this time. Any spot recommendations and or lure recommendations? Thank you!

I wish to thank gimruis for the response to my posting.  We have read many other reviews and checked with a local bait shop and have decided to head up to MN for one more ice fishing trip this weekend.  I think I NOW see the pattern that most of your members are in the St Cloud area!!  Perhaps someday in the future we may wander off to those parts.  Thanks to all who read my post and good luck to all the anglers out there.   Thanks  Happy Fishing

I have measured the ice thickness in the same area 10 feet south of my fish house and found the following: 1/30 - 23", 2/18 - 32", 2/26 - 34".  This area has been bare of snow, probably due to the wind direction.  In areas of snow cover the ice thickness will be much less.  Just for comparison I found 26" of ice on Burntside last week.   With the light snow cover and long, very cold stretch we had in February, I think Vermilion will have ice throughout April.  Of course warm weather, heavy rain, and wind could significantly change that.  After March (and the end of lake trout fishing), I don't care how soon the ice goes off.

We had a place in Soudan just down the hill from the underground mine.  I installed a decent antennae ($150) on a mast 15 feet high and we only get 3 television channels there (NBC is the only major network channel).  You may have a little better luck on the lake.
