Any Ideas???

So it has been a tough winter and after helping people getting there house off and getting stuck multiple times started to think I need to mount a winch on the back of my wheeler, just need to figure out how to make or buy something that I can anchor to the ice so can winch my self out.. So any ideas???

I would try a length of steel with a flange welded near the top so it doesn't fall through and weld a big ring on it for your winch hook. You might even try some barbs on the lower end so it bites into the ice.

If you are not carrying an auger with you, would try to build or find something like a big heavy duty Corkscrew to put into the ice to use as anchor.

Simple but effective rig is a length of chain anchored to a bar, 12-14", off centered.  Drill a hole in the ice.  With the bar off centered it will hang pretty vertically on the chain.  Lower the bar so its below the bottom of the ice.  Hook top of bar on edge of hole and position so the bar is across the bottom of the hole  and keep tension on it.  Winch yourself out.  To remove the bar/chain from hole give it some slack and the bar swings vertical again and you raise it out of the hole.  Best thing since sliced bread.

Just to move your wheeler?  1 or 2 Digger Ice Angles should be sufficient.
