I know this is a long shot but last night (12/2/2018) between 0000-0900 hours someone pryed into my locked topper and stole my FL-12,  It's in the pro pack 2 style with the digital battery read out.  My truck was in the townhouse parking lot in Golden Valley.  I filed report with the police and have called several local pawn shops, posted a stolen ad on C-List and on a few FB sites.  If anyone sees one of these for sale anywhere please let me know.  It was one of the only outdoor pieces of equipment I didn't sell for graduate school tuition and unfortunately cannot fund purchasing another one.  With it being less than 375$ new the 500$ deductible on my insurance is not worth it.  So if you are out an about and see one matching this description let me know and I can call the police and reference my case number

It had been back there since Thanksgiving, I have a fiberglass topper and they pulled on the tailgate got it to pop a little then pryed between the tailgate and the box. Came out topper window still down and locked tailgate dropped and full of snow. There's some iffy apartments nearby and I got a better timeline from the plow guys, was between 0300-0500. From my experience in emergency services people awake at that time on a Saturday night are up to no good.

Police found it, someone stole it at 0400 and pawned it at 0900 within 10 miles.  Person didn't know what it was or what it was worth and the pawn shop payed them 65$.  Lesson learned, anything you own with a serial number should be documented somewhere.  Anything electronic that gets pawned gets put into a database and law enforcement can look it up.  I'm incredibly great full since I did not have the funds to replace it.

Dang, I knew I should have gone to the Pawn store at 0910!  😅    Glad it all worked out.  🙂

How's the eye bite been out there? I got out Saturday night and landed one bigger fish. Pretty slow otherwise. Didn't mark anything Sunday morning. Few permies out on the lake. There was 11'' of ice where I was but know for a fact it is not like that on the whole lake

Be very careful. I know for a fact from a lake resident there was a heave and open water in the middle of the lake a week ago. Do not go exploring

On Coon Lake yesterday, drilled 25 - 30 holes on west side of Lexington bay. All holes at 8". Still 2 areas of open water (blue circle with red) (green line open last weekend so expect <2" ice) suggest not crossing the area. One < 17" walleye so he went back in.

Made it out last night for the first time.  Hit Shamineau for the evening bite.  Fished 21 ft water, about 15 yrds out from the milfoil edge.  Fish marked regularly from 4:15 till 6:30.  7 fish caught and probably 10 misses, first time out give me break!  Most of the walleyes were small with 2 14" fish put in the bucket. Minnows under a bobber with a plain hook or a white jig caught all the fish and bites.  Nothing on spoons.  Ice conditions: we had a consistent 9" of very good ice on Shamineau.  Large houses are out on the far west side.   Lake Alex has fisherman on most of the community spots with four wheels being used.  On the east end ice is good ranging from 8 to a little of 11".   Have not been on Fish Trap, however, Action Dock Service has warned that there is an large open area on the west side of Big Island as of yesterday.   Please be aware that Alex, Shamineau and Crookneck have many aerators in use all around these lakes for shorline protection.  Be very aware of what is in front of you, especially at night.   Good luck.

Ice was 12" every hole I drilled in the East and middle north parts of the lake. Fishing was terrible but, awesome. Very little snow on lake also. Banking your house almost impossible.🤔

Fished a small west metro lake this afternoon.  Shallow was 6-7 inches, about 5 inches out in the middle, good solid ice.  This lake locked up early and didn't get messed up by wind or warm temps.  I drilled holes as I went just to keep checking the ice, since it was our first time out for the year.

I stayed on the ice this afternoon and out of the woods.  I watched the sun fade with the last day of the ML season with mine in the truck at the access.   The darndest thing: the fishing was terrible.  Kept hoping I’d find em or it would pick up in the evening.  Neither really happened. 😔     Still, it’s been a good hunting year.  Thanks all of you that shared your season here!

You may get two of these warm and waterproof, or waterproof and dexterity but you may be hard press to get all three as dexterity is hard to get with the other two in a glove.  The best I have been able to do is some Duck hunting gloves which aren't cheap.

Sunday evening report: Set up in 27 fow on 10 inches of ice off the West end of Ely island. I  fished from 2:40-5:00 tonight. Caught 4 and missed 2 more on the set line. Tossed everything back, about an 8 , 11, 13 and 15 inch fish. One on set line with plain red hook and chub near bottom and 3 jigging (one on a macho minnow and 2 on a flyer). Had a couple other good marks that didn't commit. Lots of wheeled/skid houses pulled out this weekend all over Mckinley/big bay area. About 3-4 inches of snow so good for travel with sleds or wheelers.
